A Novel Composed Entirely of Quotations

A novel like this would be no easy task. Where would one begin? How could characters or a plot develop? Would the reader’s character be the thing to develop and/or enrich? The possibilities could become an author’s, or team of author’s, writer’s block.
Maybe a present, to past, to future outlook would be a good direction to take. Chapters might focus on certain aspects of life and I imagine keeping the attention of potential readers could be a challenge; not to mention, the challenge of maintaining a coherent design.

The bibliography should be extensive. There would be quotes from religious texts, philosophers, cynics, idealists, warlords, pacifists, idiots, geniuses, those of apathy, all the descriptive stereotypes we’ve contrived as well as the paradoxical.

However, I almost forget what could be the one thing that could bring a novel of quotes to a cohesive whole: empathy-the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.

About Justin

I'm a son, brother, uncle, father, friend, husband, etc. I am a lot of different things to a lot of different people but I don't mind what I'm called as long as it's not late for dinner because I can smell what the rock is cooking.
